Dear everybody,

My name is Yentl Hofwijks and I’m a student of the Groenhorst College in Barneveld, the Netherlands. I was allowed to choose my own traineeship, and i have chosen to do this in an animal shelter in Moscow, Russia.

I have worked in an animal shelter in the Moscow region, a BIM animal shelter in Khoteichi. The reason that I have worked here is because of the fact that I was very curious about how much different it would be comparing to a dutch animal shelter, what I’m used to. And I was dieing for some new experiences.

You can say that I was very positivly suprised during my period here! Before I went there I expected that working in a animal shelter in Russia would be just the same as in Holland( cleaning cages, walk the dogs, feed the animals) BUT they gave me the oppurtunity to see and experience how it is like to be an veterinarian. Comparing to Holland, you are only alowed to watch 99,9% of the time.

I can proudly say that these 3 weeks where the most valuable for me during my study and it will be difficult to find such a great place again!

This website is made to let you see how amazing it is here and to clear the negative judgements out of the air.

All of the pictures are made by the employees in Khoteichi or by me.

Yours,

Yentl
